Brown Sugar Chocolate Chip Cookies

A delicious twist on a classic

Ingredients
  

  • 3/4 Cup Shortening
  • 1 1/4 Cups Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Milk
  • 1 Tablespoon Vanilla
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 Cups Flour
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 3/4 Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 Cup Chocolate Chips
  • 1 Cup Chopped Pecan

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with a baking mat or parchment paper if you wish and set it aside.
  • In your mixing bowl, cream together shortening and brown sugar for about 30 seconds.
  • Add the milk, vanilla and egg. Mix until creamy.
  • Slowly add dry ingredients and mix-ins until fully incorporated.
  • Form the dough into 2 inch balls, or use your cookie scoop. Place on prepared baking sheet, about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes until the edges are slightly golden brown.
  • Remove from oven and let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 2-3 minutes. Transfer to wire cooling racks.
  • Store in an airtight container for 3-4 days.
